About the Role
Location: Basildon Branch, travel into London
Hours: 42.50 per week – 6.30am to 4pm

Job Summary
Day to day driving responsibilities as instructed within Unit 8A and also Unit 4 as and when requested.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe working environment by applying a ‘Safety First’ approach to working.
- Ensure vehicle has daily checks, as per the driving manual, and kept clean, tidy at all times.
- The driver is the ‘face’ of XPand and required to provide high standards of service to our clients at all times.
- Always check goods whilst loading and unloading to ensure cargo integrity. Highlight damage or loss immediately to the Transport Manager.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of your vehicle, checking against notes to ensure accuracy of receipt or dispatch of goods.
- Safety – Ensure all freight loaded is secured and unlikely to move during transit. Use straps when required.
- Raise concerns/issues with Supervisor/Line Manager as soon as they are noted.
- Drive at all times within the legal requirements. Be courteous to other drivers and the general public.
- Safety – drive safely, keep distance from other vehicles and avoid damage to vehicle. Any damage should be reported immediately to the Transport Manager.
- Flexibility with hours to suit the company requirements.
Key skills / experience:
- Full valid Driving license
- Good numerical skills.
- Able to work under pressure, multitask and work to deadlines.
- Willing to go the extra mile by starting early / finishing late when needed or asked.
- Good time keeping.
- Positive attitude and good communication skills.
- Able to maintain good relationships with colleagues’, subcontractors, and customers.
Key Performance Indicators:
- On time and undamaged/lost deliveries. Client satisfaction.
- Positive feedback from both customers and fellow staff.
- No damage to vehicle.
- Picks are completely timely, accurately, both in count and description.
