Our Initiatives

Community and Charity Engagement

At XPand Logistics, we take great pride in our active involvement in community and charity initiatives. We are dedicated to supporting various local causes and organisations that align with our values. By participating in, organising and sponsoring events, we strive to make a positive and lasting impact on the communities in which we are located. Each of our locations have a nominated charity which is reviewed annually. We encourage our team to nominate charities which are important to them. Below you will find some more information on each chosen charity.

Manchester Location – Coffee4Craig

At our Manchester location, our nominated charity is “Coffee4Craig,” a charity dedicated to assisting the homeless. Introduced by our passionate Manchester Branch Manager we help contribute to their mission of providing mental health support, financial advice, and interview skills training at their drop-in centre where guests can come in for a two-course meal, shower, exchange of clothes and chat 5 days a week.

The Manchester location are also proud sponsors of a local football club, AFC Stockport, which gives members of the community of all ages the opportunity to play grass roots football and acknowledges the important role sport plays in community development, health and wellbeing. This community project was introduced by a member of our Manchester team who is actively involved with the club and volunteers her time to support them.

Basildon Location - British Heart Foundation and TOFS

Our Basildon location has been instrumental in organising and sponsoring a charity football match planned by our employee, Joe Steward, in memory of his children, Jaxon and Ezra. The fundraiser supports the British Heart Foundation and TOFS, with all proceeds directly benefiting these important causes. We were honoured to sponsor the team kit for this event. The event features entertainment, face painting, food, drinks, and a raffle, fostering a sense of community while raising awareness and funds for crucial health issues.

Egham Location - Samaritans

At our Egham location, XPand Logistics proudly supports the Bracknell, Wokingham and Ascot District Samaritans, a charity dedicated to providing confidential emotional support to individuals experiencing feelings of distress or despair. Samaritans operates a 24/7 helpline and outreach programs, offering a listening ear to those in need. Our partnership with Samaritans reflects our commitment to mental health advocacy and supporting vulnerable individuals within our community. Through sponsorship and volunteer efforts at their main fundraiser, we strive to make a positive impact by promoting emotional well-being and crisis intervention services. This charity is particularly close to the heart of our non-executive Director Fred Osborn.

Environmental Impact

XPand Logistics is committed to reducing our environmental footprint. We continuously seek solutions to minimise waste, lower emissions, and promote sustainability across our operations. Our network of branches in Basildon, Egham, and Manchester, adhere to environmental standards, ensuring that our growth aligns with eco-friendly practices. Our new facility in Manchester was part of the regeneration of a brownfield site which received an impressive EPC A rating and BREEAM Very Good certification, in addition to reusing and recycling steel and concrete structures already on the site. Job Creation and Economic Growth

The development of our new Manchester site has generated numerous job opportunities in the local area, contributing to economic growth and community development, with over 95% of the project budget invested in the supply chain within a 45 mile radius of the site. We are committed to employing local talent and the site has the capacity to create over 400 new jobs. By creating stable employment opportunities, we aim to support the local economy and provide valuable career paths for residents.

Volunteer Work

At XPand Logistics, we understand how important giving back through volunteer work is. That is why we have created an initiative that allows our staff to take paid leave, in order to support causes that matter to them. This program not only empowers our employees to contribute to their communities, but also reinforces our commitment to social responsibility. Whether it is participating in local events, supporting charitable organisations, or offering their skills and time to those in need, our employees’ volunteer efforts reflect the core values of XPand Logistics and our dedication to creating positive change.

Awards and Recognitions

Our dedication to CSR has not gone unnoticed. XPand Logistics were the first European WCA agent, and the second Worldwide WCA agent to be awarded their ECO badge, reflecting our commitment to ethical practices, environmental sustainability, and corporate responsibility. We are also Planet Market certified, pledging to reduce the carbon footprint of our business operations by at least 5% year on year.These accolades serve as a testament to our ongoing efforts to lead by example in the logistics industry.
