A sustainability plan is no longer a ‘cool to have’ for businesses. It’s becoming a requirement along with a commitment to, and plan for, reaching Net Zero.
At XPand we’re keen to lead by example, especially during this crucial #DecadeofAction, and are thrilled to announce that we’ve increased our commitment by becoming Planet Mark certified.
Planet Mark is a globally recognised sustainability accreditation for all types of organisations, real estate, and products. This certification will be based on our commitment to continual development in sustainability within our company operations, which includes monitoring and reducing our carbon impact.
Examples of the influence we’ll have through Planet Mark include the protection of an area of vulnerable rainforest through Cool Earth, a charity that works with rainforest communities to stop deforestation. Our pledge through Cool Earth directly benefits the Asháninka community in Central Peru.
Through our commitment to Planet Mark, we’re also helping the Eden Project – an educational charity that builds connections amongst all life forms and investigates how we might work to create a better future.
We still have a lot of work to do, and we won’t relax on our efforts, but this initiative reflects our broad approach to sustainability – measuring not only environmental but also community effect.
